Make a New Year’s resolution to de-stress and unwind
with the help of Cooloola Coast Natural Therapies, now open in the Scullett
Drive commercial complex.
Rainbow Beach resident Paula Cartwright has set up her
own Health & Wellbeing Clinic after years of study and working for other
massage and naturopathy clinics.
“It’s been a long journey to get here”, Paula says, “But
I am really excited to be running my own clinic, especially here in Cooloola.”
A direct descendant of the early settlers of Gympie,
Paula has a strong connection with the area.
Born in Gympie, she has lived in various places along the Cooloola and
Sunshine Coasts. After spending nearly
two decades living and travelling around Australia and the rest of the world,
Paula settled in Rainbow five years ago, where she worked as both a massage
therapist and a journalist for various local publications.
Somehow managing to fit in her studies around raising
four children, Paula is a fully qualified massage therapist, offering a full
range of massage treatments including relaxation, sports, deep tissue,
lymphatic drainage, pregnancy and reflexology.
“Massage is a good tool for injury recovery as well,” she says, “I would
definitely recommend it.”
In addition to her massage qualifications, Paula is also
about to complete her degree in naturopathy.
She has spent the past few years working alongside a qualified
naturopath in Gympie, and will soon be offering a complement of natural
therapies.
Originally studying Sciences at Brisbane’s Griffith
University, Paula’s journey into natural therapies began quite accidentally as
she browsed in an alternative bookshop while waiting for a bus one day eighteen
years ago. “What I started reading just
blew me away,” she says, “I found a passion.”
Experience the benefits of that passion by booking in for a massage, or
treat a loved one with a gift voucher.
Open 9am-5pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, Paula also opens 4pm-8pm
on Thursdays to cater for those that work full-time. Call 5486 2799 to make an appointment.
